Q. HI! I am planning a small bathroom remodeling project where I would like to have old tiles removed and new tiles set and also bathtub refinished. My question is what should be done first the tiles or the bath tub and why? Thank you very much.
I mean the tiles on the walls surrounding the tub, not the floor tiles. Thanks

A. Rip out the old tiles...
Have the tub done 1st so the whole thing can be re finished. If tiles are up, the refinish can only be done up to that point.
Whether its an old tub, new tub or a re finished tub, the installer is responsible to protect the tub during installation of the new tiles.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

How do other contractors get repair and remodeling leads?
Q. I specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling and I'm always looking for more business. I'm hoping to partner with some of the local plumbing companies in order to generate more leads (esp. bath remodels). Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I've tried print advertising but all I get is telemarketer calls.
A. Word of mouth is your biggest friend. Have you a builders association to join? Other trades can recommend other trades. Is there a BNI close by? It s a business network that tries to to business within their own network. Join any Lions or Kiwanis clubs and stay fairly active.. GL
best home remodeling company in Minneapolis?
Q. I am in the process of buying my first home and the basement needs to be finished as well as a few new windows put in and the gutter replaced. I'm looking for a company that can do everything for me (maybe also some bathroom remodeling). Someone who is not ridiculously expensive, reliable, and timely. The rehab loan I am taking out requires that the work be done by an approved contractor and within 30 days of closing. All suggestions welcome! (the home I am purchasing is in Bloomington so a local twin cities company is preferred)
Thanks!
Thanks!
